How to Layer Fragrance: A Guide to Skin Scents

Fragrance layering is a simple way to create a scent that feels more personal to you. Rather than relying on one strong fragrance, layering lighter skin scents allows you to build fragrance gradually.

Start with a light fragrance

Subtle fragrance mists and skin scents work particularly well for layering because they sit closer to the skin. Their lower intensity allows different fragrance notes to complement one another rather than compete.

Layer complementary fragrance notes

Fresh citrus, green tea and soft florals pair beautifully with woody fragrance notes such as sandalwood, cedarwood and tree moss.

At Iseult, our fragrance mists can be worn individually or layered together. Try the fresh citrus and green tea notes of Siena with the woody, aromatic notes of Cairngorms for a more complex skin scent.

Keep it subtle

Fragrance layering doesn't have to mean wearing more fragrance. Start with a light application and build slowly. The aim is a subtle scent that develops on the skin and is noticed by you, and those close to you.

For those who prefer light fragrance, subtle skin scents or are sensitive to strong scents, layering offers a softer way to make fragrance your own.
